Born and raised in beautiful Westphalia, Germany, I studied medicine at the Free University of Berlin and the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and later at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School at Hammersmith Hospital in London.
I started to work and investigate at the Charité University Hospital, Berlin. Here I finished my doctors degrees (Dr.med.) in 2002 (summa cum laude) and was awarded the prize for the best annual dissertation.
In the following years I focussed more and more on my clinical experience and became specialist in internal medicine in 2005 and in gastroenterology in 2007. In the same year I became consultant and already in 2009 head of the department of internal medicine, gastroenterology and diabetology at the Jewish Hospital Berlin.
After these successful and happy years in Berlin - in the meantime our daughter was born - we decided to move from Berlin to the Costa del Sol, my wife´s home. On the way we stopped over in New Zealand, for a 6 month locumship at the Timaru Hospital and a lectureship at the University of Otago, Dunedin. Since early 2013 I am now working as a gastroenterologist in private clinic in the center of Marbella.

Gastroenterology focuses on disorders of the digestive system. The digestive system includes the alimentary tract from mouth to anus (esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, rektum) and organs like liver, gallbladder and pancreas.
In many countries including Germany gastroenterology is a subspecialty of internal medicine, which means physicians who are specialized in gastroenterology have to qualify first in internal medicine before they start their training in gastroenterology.
My out patient clinic is found on Avenida Ricardo Soriano, 36, Marbella,
in the María III building, office 105 on the first floor.

There is a public parking in the basement, so parking is not a problem.
